Ecco Italy is an innovative Charlottesville, Virginia—based Romance Language enterprise offering an ever-increasing variety of educational and consulting services in the fields of Italian, French and Spanish language, culture, food/wine and travel. A cultural emporium of sorts as well as a living classroom, our aim is to provide inspired, entertaining and educated support for individuals, groups and businesses with an interest in or connections to Italy, France and the Spanish-speaking world.

Ecco Italy’s beautiful and unique location—in the Italian “peninsula” of Charlottesville’s European marketplace, The Main Street Market—is the perfect setting for language, food/wine and travel explorations and helps keep the passion for European culture alive between trips overseas. Ecco Italy/Spain on Main is owned and directed by educational entrepreneur and traveling gourmet, Christina Ball.

What past participants have to say:

This was such a fantastic way to not only experience Italy, but also to really learn the language! The teachers at the school were excellent-patient, skilled, and able to make sure each student is in the class that most comfortably fits their language abilities; and, just adorable! I really enjoyed each of them as they hosted the afternoon historical and wine tasting outings to nearby towns. I highly recommend that you stay with a host family. My hostess was especially gracious; however, I heard the same thing from other members of my group. You are forced to practice what you learn in class in every-day conversations, and you pick up so much more of the language! I was actually able to go days in
a row without speaking English!
